Attorney Matthew McLain

Matthew McLain, founder of McLain Law, is a third generation attorney who is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida and various Federal courts. McLain aggressively advocates for his client’s interests and is dedicated to putting forward the most effective legal strategy and arguments.

Prior to founding McLain Law, Matthew McLain worked at a national appellate law firm where he fine-tuned his advocacy skills. McLain has represented hundreds of criminal defendants in their pursuit of relief at the trial, appellate and clemency level. Matthew McLain attended the University of Florida, where he obtained his bachelor degree in business administration with a minor in Spanish. He participated in triathlons, including the completion of an ironman triathlon, and coached scholastic rowing. McLain earned his law degree from Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University College of Law cum laude, finished in the top 10 of his class, and was a member of Law Review.  McLain earned the highest grade in the classes of Federal Civil Procedure, Florida Criminal and Civil Procedure, and Professional Responsibility.

Internships

Matthew McLain worked as a certified legal intern for the Office of the State Attorney, Ninth Judicial Circuit. While at the State Attorney's Office, McLain represented the State at trial and pre-trial proceedings. McLain also gained experience by clerking at a leading civil recovery law firm.
